Phil Johnson Ball Fields

A former gravel pit and fill site located in south Everett has been converted to a "state of the art" little league baseball complex. D.A. Hogan & Associates was the prime consultant for this project that included four little league fields, field lighting systems, parking, and landscape areas. The project also included a central building for restrooms, concessions, and storage with a second floor for an observation and press area.

To establish the field subgrade areas approximately 30,000 cy of soil material was moved to level to project. The history of the previous uses for the site as a gravel mine and a fill area required special geotechnical coordination. Portions of the project area are constructed over a 60 foot depth of previously installed fill materials.

The fields include a combination of vertically-draining sand based natural turf for the outfield areas and infilled synthetic turf for the infield areas.
