Mount Si High School

The Mount Si High School Sport Complex is located in the floodway of the Snoqualmie River. Renovation of the fields to a new sports complex required special consideration to the periodic floodwaters that cover the site. The grading design was closely coordinated with hydraulic modeling to insure the project would not raise flood water elevations to any surrounding properties. 

The running track includes durable Olympic class surfacing that can withstand fast moving flood waters and can be pressure washed after flooding occurs. The natural turf baseball, softball, and soccer fields include special drainage systems below the root zone to allow for flushing of silt and colloidal materials associated with flood events. These fields included custom grown sand based sod to insure superior drainage performance.
