Mount Si High School Sport Complex

The complex is located in the floodway of the Snoqualmie River. Renovation of the fields to a new sports complex required special consideration to the periodic floodwaters that cover the site. The grading design was closely coordinated with hydraulic modeling to insure the project would not raise flood water elevations to any surrounding properties.

The synthetic turf field and corresponding stadium structure is six feet above grade on a pre-cast concrete elevated deck to allow flood waters to flow underneath the field's surface. This eliminates erosion of the rubber infill materials into the river. The surfacing system includes a resilient drainage layer that allows lateral water movement below the field's surface over the concrete decking.
